Dakota Sweet Watermelons
Early-Hardy-Fine Quality. If there is any better melon for the Northwest, we haven't seen it. Of Russian origin, its outstanding qualities caught the eyes of Professor A. F. Yeager. Though similar to Northern Sweet, we regard it as much superior. The melons weigh from 9 to 14 pounds; the thin rind is medium green with darker stripes; and the flesh is bright red, crisp and very sweet. A heavy cropper and very early, ripening in 9 to 10 weeks. Melons should be picked as soon as ripe. Pkt., 10c; oz., 20c; ¼ lb., 50c; ½ lb., 85c; 1 lb., $1.60, postpaid.
