The best white onion. This is the standard white variety for general culture. The bulbs grow to good size, ripening quite evenly and early, about 10 days earlier than Southport white globe. For keeping this is the best of all white varieties. The flesh is mild and sweet, the skin is a silvery white. These onions make fine bunching or green onions, are also grown for the market as large white onions and are used more than any other white variety for pickling and for onion sets.
