Excelsior Melon
This melon is one of the largest raised in the North. It is early, productive, of large size and of good quality; rind thin; flesh of a bright red color; very delicate and sweet. Samples have been grown weighing over seventy pounds. It took the first premium at the annual exhibition of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society in 1877 and 1878, specimens being shown weighing 65 pounds.
