Early May King Lettuce
From early spring plantings in the open ground they grow quickly to a diameter of six to seven inches, with the broad, light-green outer leaves folding closely about the round solid head; in cool weather the edges of these outer leaves are lightly tinged with brown. The round solid heads are so firmly folded that they can be shipped to distant markets and arrive in good condition. It has only on superior in its class and that is Burpee's Earliest Wayahead, the best of this type. Pkt., 5c; oz., 20c; ¼ lb., 60c; lb., $2.00; postpaid.
