Burpee's Iceberg Lettuce
The unusual solidity of the heads is uninsured by the large white main ribs of the leaves, each of which, curving strongly into the center, acts like a truss, making it impossible for the leaves to open outward and expose the center, which is consequently thoroughly blanched. It matters not whether grown to head in the early spring or in the hottest days of the summer, the leaves are always crisp and tender. Pkt., 5c; oz., 20c; ¼ lb., 60c; lb., $2.00
