The Deltus Cucumber Cucumbers
A very fine new sort, recommended as one of the best slicers ever introduced. The Deltus Cucumber was developed by a very successful market grower in New York State and it was through the recommendation of one of my customers, who had tested the Deltus, that I secured stock seeds and grew this seed. The fruits are very dark green marked like the white spine sorts at the blossom end, but differing in that the skin is smooth. There is no darker green sort. The flesh is ivory white, very deep, and of excellent quality. Very few seeds are produced and these are slow to form, so that as a slicer it will command high prices on the market. The fruits are very uniform in shape and size and bear in great abundance. You know where less seed is produced more cucumbers result, as the strength of the vine goes to produce cucumbers instead of seed. Length 10 inches as slicers. Prices (20c per pkt.) (40c per oz.) ($1.40 per ¼ lb.) ($5.00 per lb.) postpaid. Special Hot House Stock Seed Deltus Cucumber. I made this very careful selection from ideal specimens for greenhouse growers of cucumbers. Many report this the best thing they have grown for hot house planting. Prices (50c per pkt.) ($1.50 per oz.) ($5.00 per ¼ lb.) ($18.00 per lb.) postpaid.
