Large Round-Leaved, Large-Seeded Corn Salad
This is a hardy winter salad, the small leaves being served like lettuce during the cool fall and early winter months. It is used also for garnishing meat dishes in the same manner as parsley and cress. It does not succeed during warm weather, and the seed should be sown thinly in drills during August, September, and October to supply fresh leaves during the cool fall and winter months. It is quite hardy, and after cool weather sets in can be protected by a thin mulch of soft hay or straw. One ounce will plant thirty feet of row. Pkt., 5c; oz., 10c; ¼ lb., 25c; lb., 70c; postpaid.
