This vegetable is allied to the cabbage family. Sow seed as for cabbage, at intervals of about three weeks during May, June, and July. When a month old, set out the plants in the garden in rows 3 feet apart, leaving 2 feet between the plants. The leaves are esteemed as greens. One ounce of seed will produce about 3000 plants.
