Fordhook Emperor Celery
An entirely distinct new Winter Celery, excelling by far any other winter variety known today in solidity, weight and flavor. A most distinct variety of outstanding merit and the best new vegetable introduced in recent years. It is of true dwarf type averaging about 15 to 18 inches in height, while the blanched portion is about 6 to 9 inches long. The stalks are smooth and very thick, measuring more than ½ inch across when cut, and a stalk although low growing averages more than two pounds in weight. The tops are green, while the outer stalks blanch white and the heart is tinged with yellow. The flavor is of superlative excellence, decidedly nutty and crisp. Owing to its dwarf growth this variety is easy to blanch. Ptk. 8C; oz. 35C; ¼ lb. $1.15; ½ lb. $2.00; lb. $3.50
