Swiss Chard, or Sea Kale Beet Beets
A species of Beet, affording a luxuriant growth of leaves and stalks, which are used as “Greens.” The mid-rib and stalk may also be prepared as Asparagus, for which it is an excellent substitute. Culture same as the common Beet, only the plants should stand at least one foot apart.
