Detroit Dark Red Turnip Beets
A most excellent turnip sort, a little later than the above two kinds with red, medium sized roots. Flesh bright red, zoned with a darker shade; very crisp, tender, and sweet, remaining so a long time. Tops small and upright, leaves dark green shaded with red. A favorite for canning because of its beautiful, very deep red color. Deservedly popular, with market gardeners and one of the finest for the private garden. Very uniform, smooth beet of the darkest color. Pkt. 4C; oz. 12C; 2 oz. 23C; ¼ lb. 45C; ½ lb. 80C; lb. $1.50.
