Ohio Canner Beet
The Ideal Canning Beet. This Beet has been developed to meet the exacting demands of the canner for a smooth, perfectly formed Beet with deep colored flesh. It is the result of the inbreeding of many generations of Beets by the Ohio Agricultural Experiment Station. The tops are small and dark colored. The roots are uniformly round in shape with a small tap root. The color of the flesh is intense deep blood-red without any trace of light zones. The smooth symmetrical form and superior color are combined to make this a perfect canning and pickling beet. Commercial growers will find here a splendid paying sort for markets demanding beets of superior quality. It is also a splendid variety for the home garden because of the fine table quality. Pkt., 10c; oz., 20c; ¼ lb., $1.50, prepaid.
