Purple Pod Pole Bean Beans
(65 days). This is not a new bean. Henry Field found it growing in some of the neighbors' gardens in the Ozarks. Evidently it was brought form Europe many years ago. The neighbors liked it, and Henry liked it, so he collected a start of seed and multiplied it. We still never have had enough to go around. It grows like Kentucky Wonder. Climbs well, yields abundantly. Meat is thick, of excellent quality, and stringless. Pods are a beautiful reddish purple, but turn a light green when cooked. They freeze well. You will know when they are properly blanched by the bright green color. One of our favorite varieties. You will like it too. Pkt. (3 oz.), 25c; ½ lb., 50c; 1 lb., 85c, postpaid.
