Chantenay or Model
This is an excellent medium early half-long, stump rooted variety. The roots are smooth and are from 5 to 6 inches long, with rich orange-red flesh of the finest quality. Coreless

Danvers Half Long
The best known second early half long sort, a great yielder and a first class carrot for all soils. The roots are smooth, from 6 to 8 inches long, tapering to a blunt point, a deep orange in color, with close texture flesh and little core. French Forcing

Imperator or Tendersweet
One of the finest varieties, always sweet, tender and brittle, the roots are from 7 to 81/2 inches long, 2 inches in diameter at the shoulder and uniformly tapered to a semi-blunt end. Improved Long Orange

Mastodon or Short White

Oxheart or Guerande
One of the most valuable and popular varieties. When fully grown the type is about 51/2 inches long, 31/2 inches thick at the shoulder and about 2 inches thick at the bottom. With bright orange flesh, fine grained and sweet, it is of fine quality for table use and equally good for stock. It is very easily dug or pulled and is probably our heaviest yielding carrot. Pride of Denmark
A very productive and high quality carrot. The nearly coreless, deep orange roots are from 8 to 9 inches long, and nearly the same size throughout their entire length.
