Black Nubian
A most unique and novel pepper and a fit representative of the Dark Continent. Fruit 6 inches in length, tapering to a sharp point, and of a shining, wax-like black color until fully ripe, when it changes to a dark orange-red. Its is highly desirable as an ornamental plant to grow in connection with our Kaleidoscope and Celestial. Its habit is splendid and its long black peppers make it a most odd and attractive plant. The peppers are fiery and when half grown, superior for pickling, etc. it is in every respect a great acquisition, and entirely unlike any other pepper known. Pkt., 15c; 2 pkts.,25c.
Childs' Celestial Improved
Our agent, in traveling in China some years ago, collected several new vegetables, the most important of which is this superb pepper, which we christened Childs' Celestial. That it is the finest pepper and one of the most beautiful plants in existence cannot be denied. We have grown it several years in our Floral Park gardens, and it has attracted great attention. The plant begins to set its peppers early in the season and continues until frost, branching freely and bearing profusely. The peppers, up to the time they are fully grown, are of a delicate, creamy yellow color, and when fully grown change to an intense vivid scarlet, making a plant when loaded with fruit part of one color and part of the other, an object of the most striking beauty and oddity. The peppers are two to three inches long, sharp flavor, and superior for any of the uses to which a pepper can be put. Since we introduced this beautiful pepper three years ago, we have carefully collected our stock seed each year from the very finest specimens, both in productiveness and habit of growth, and the strain we offer this year is a great improvement over any previously sold by ourselves or others. It is a magnificent thing for pots, and few plants are more ornamental. It keeps in good growing condition nearly all winter, and the beautifully colored peppers make it a pot plant of the most wonderful beauty. For Christmas and New Year it is superb. Try a few in pots, and you will ever after grow it for ornament. Pkt., 10c; oz., 50c.
Childs' Kaleidoscope
Two years ago we introduced Childs' Celestial, a pepper which has taken the world quite by storm, and has proved to be not only the most useful pepper in cultivation, but a superb ornamental plant which is grown largely in pots and otherwise for decorative purposes. Beautiful and useful as Celestial is, Childs' Kaleidoscope, though entirely different, is in every respect vastly superior to it. It is of beautiful habit, having long wavy branches, which are loaded with drooping fruit, the size and shape shown on colored plate. From the time the peppers form until fully grown they are of a light, yellowish cream color. When fully grown they commerce to change color, first to a lovely canary yellow, then to a deep orange, then to rose or pink and so on through different shades until they are an intense scarlet, vivid and luminous. As may be imagined, a plant bearing hundreds of peppers will show 6 or 8 distinct colors, is an object of more than ordinary beauty. It is sure to become a favorite pot plant, as well as a useful vegetable. It grows very freely in the garden or in pots and bears enormously. Its flavor is clear and sharp, and for any use to which a pepper can be put, it is second to none. Pkt., 15c; 2 pkts., 25c.

A dwarf, bushy pepper, bearing large clusters of scarlet fruit which is exceedingly beautiful. Cultivated as pot plants they are as showy as many of the choicest flowers. The peppers are particularly adapted to pickling, and for all uses to which any pepper can be put. Pkt., 5c; oz., 30c.
Ruby King
The giant pepper, grows to an enormous size, is of the most brilliant ruby red color, very mild and pleasant in flavor. Pkt., 5c; oz., 50c.
