Alaska
This pea is remarkable for its extreme earliness and fine quality. It is the quickest pea on record, ripening ahead of all others. We had our first picking last year early in June, and that from sowings made after other sorts were growing through the ground. Its height is two feet, pods fine shaped, dark green, well filled, often 7 to 9 in a pod. Quality the very best. Pkt., 10c; pt., 30c; qt., 50c.
American Wonder
The earliest dwarf-wrinkled pea in cultivation. It is ready for the table in 30 or 40 days from the time of planting. Its flavor is exquisite, habit very dwarf. Pkt., 10c; pt., 30c; qt., 50c.
Champion of England
Late, exquisite flavor. Pkt., 10c; pt., 30c; qt., 50c.
Childs' Universal Pea
The finest of all. This is the first new pea we have ever introduced, as for many years there has been no room for a new sort of ordinary merits, for there are already too many of them. In Childs' Universal we have a new sort destined to become the universal garden favorite the world over. It was originated over ten years ago, since when it has been carefully selected and grown, until we now have what we believe is the most perfect pea in cultivation. It combines a dwarf habit with fine quality and enormous productiveness, the three essential features, all in one sort. It can be styled a half-dwarf, not tall enough to require staking, yet branching freely and producing vine enough to give on of the largest crops any pea can yield. The peas are of medium size, wrinkled and of exceedingly high flvor. It is medium early, and fine for a succession if sown at intervals of two weeks. For a standard garden sort it must take the lead, being superior to Champion of England inasmuch that it does not require staking. Pkt., 15c; pt., 50c.
Everbearing
A new pea of great value, owing to its lateness and long continued bearing. It is enormously prolific and of the very best flavor. Pkt., 10c; pt., 30c; qt., 50c.
Evolution
The vines are of strong growth, three feet high, of a decidedly branching character, and bear continuously an abundant crop of magnificent large pods, each containing eight to twelve wrinkled peas, of remarkable size, and unusually rich and sugary flavor. It has been appropriately termed “the Everlasting Bearer,” as from a single sowing it continues to bear as long as three months. Very prolific, large size and delicious quality is the testimony of all. Pkt., 15c; pt., 40c.
McLean's Little Gem
Dwarf, early and prolific. Pkt., 10c; pt., 30c; qt., 50c.
