Banana
This curious sort is greatly liked. The melons attain a length of three feet, and are two to four inches thick. The flavor is very good and is surely an attractive and curious variety. With the exception of the Emerald Green we think it the best of all melons. It is exceedingly fragrant when ripe, and will perfume a whole house. Its flesh and flavor reminds one of a fine banana. Childs' Great Combination
Great Combination is an appropriate name for a melon which combines the largest size, superb quality, fragrance, late ripening and long keeping qualities. In size it will average twice as large as any other musk melon we know, twenty to thirty pounds being its usual weight. It is very thick-meated, rich apricot yellow in color and highly fragrant. In quality, it is very rich and delicious, being equaled only by Emerald Gem. Is it the last of all musk melons to ripen, and comes after all others have gone, which makes it a most important variety. Its keeping qualities are simply marvelous, for when carefully picked in September and stored in a cool place it is not unusual for it to keep a month in perfect condition. It has a splendid uniform shape, and its tremendous size makes it a giant among melons. A most valuable novelty, which will be greatly appreciated. Pkt., 15c.
Emerald Gem
Few new vegetables have proved as worthy as this. It is indeed the finest of all melons. Its color is dark green, with most beautiful salmon colored flesh. Medium size, round and very prolific. Its flavor is delicious and sweet beyond description. It is so rich and juicy that it nearly drops to pieces, and is best eaten with a spoon. We can say nothing which will convey a true idea of its delicious quality. It must be eaten to be appreciated. Do not fail to plant this grand melon. Pkt., 10c; oz., 20c; lb., $2.00
