This new strain of Snowball is earlier, hardier, and more vigorous than any of the older types, and it yields a higher grade product. The plants start to head nearly all at the same time throughout the field. The head is perfectly protected by the long leaves until it reaches a size of five inches in diameter, when it should be tied up. The head will finally attain a size of ten inches across. The crop matures with great uniformity and the heads are of snowy whiteness, exceptionally high, very solid, and heavy.
