Alderman – Prolific Late
(75 days). This is one of the vigorous growing English varieties. It matures later than the others, but bears an abundance of large peas of good quality and flavor. And since the pods are large, and weigh heavy on the vines, you should support the plants. Pkt. (3 oz), 15c; ½ lb., 35c; 1 lb., 65c, postpaid.
American Wonder
(60 days). This one always comes into bearing ahead of the other wrinkled varieties. The dwarf vines grow only about one foot tall and are covered with medium sized pods. Peas are of good quality, tender, and of fine flavor. Especially well liked because of resistance to drouth. Pkt. (3 oz), 15c; ½ lb., 35c; 1 lb., 65c; 3 lbs., 1.65, postpaid.
Black Eyed Peas
Genuine old-fashioned southern kind. Really more of a bean than a pea. Use green in the summertime and dried for winter. Grows as easily as any other garden peas. Pkt. (3 oz), 15c; ½ lb. 35C; 1 lb., 65c; 3 lbs., 1.65, postpaid
Early Giant
(62 days). This is another one that has large peas of good quality, but it matures earlier than Alderman. It has vigorous dark green vines that grow 20 to 24 inches tall that you don't have to stake (but they'll probably do better if you do stake them). The pods are large, and filled with from 7 to 9 great big sweet peas. Pkt. (3 oz), 15c; ½ lb., 35c; 1 lb., 65c; 3 lbs., 1.65, postpaid.
Edible Podded Peas (Dwarf Gray Sugar)
(62 days). Here is the pea that you can eat just like green beans – pods and all – and you'll like them. This means you don't have to bother shelling them. And besides, they give you more food value. They're easy to grow, easy to cook, and, best of all, sweet and delicious in flavor. Pkt. (3 oz), 15c; ½ lb., 40c; 1 lb., 70c, postpaid.
Extra Early Alaska
(56 days). This is the earliest pea known and one of our biggest sellers. It is an improved, wilt-resistant strain of an old favorite, is very hardy, and is a heavy yielder. Sure to crop and easy to grow. Produces medium sized, well-filled pods. The peas are of excellent quality and, as they ripen all at once, are easy to gather. If you want a lot of good early peas, plant this one. Pkt. (3 oz.
Freezonian
(63 days). An All-America winner especially recommended for freezing because the skin does not loosen and peel. The peas are large and tasty, the quality is excellent. The vines grow about 30 inches tall, producing dark green, blunt-ended pods about 3 ½ inches long. Resistant to fusarium wilt. Although Freezonian is especially fine for freezing, it also is ideal for canning, and is an excellent variety for both home and market gardeners. Pkt. (3 oz.), 15c; ½ lb., 42c; 1 lb., 70c; 3 lbs., 1.75, postpaid.
Large Podded Marvel (The little Giant Marvel)
(65 days). This is like the Little Marvel excepting that the pods are larger. The vine is dwarf, but the well filled pods always contain plenty of large peas that are sweet, tender and juicy. Pkt. ( 3 oz), 15c; ½ lb., 35c; 1 lb., 65c; 3 lbs., 1.65, postpaid.
Little Marvel
(62 days). It will be a long time till we find a better one than Little Marvel. For quality, yield, earliness, or any other point, it is hard to beat. It is a vigorous grower and a heavy yielder. Vines get about 18 inches high, and are loaded with dark green, nearly round, square ended pods about 3 inches long. 7 or 8 large peas to the pod. 3 quarts of pods often will shell out a quart of peas. Tender and sweet, and of finest quality. One of the favorites because it is one of the best of all peas. Pkt. (3 oz.), 15c; ½ lb., 40c; 1 lb., 75c; 3 lbs., 1.90, postpaid
Premium Gem – Extra Early One
(58 days). This is one of the most popular of the early garden peas. The vines are dwarf, growing about 15 inches in height. The pods are blunt ended, 2 ¾ “ long, with 6 to 7 peas to the pod. Very productive, and fine flavored. Considered by many to be sweetest of the early peas. Pkt. (3 oz), 15c; ½ lb., 35c; 1 lb., 65c; 3 lbs., 1.65, postpaid.
“Wrinkled” All Sweet
( 55 days). This wilt-resistant pea is best described by saying it is a “wrinkled Alaska.” It makes a vine growth like the Alaska, and is fully as hardy. The pods, which are 2 ½ to 3 inches long, are chock full of tiny, sweet, tender peas. A good variety for canning and freezing too. Pkt. (3 oz), 15c; ½ lb. 50C; 1 lb., 70c; 3 lbs., 1.75, postpaid.
